Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Shafkat Samin Anowar after finishing his Secondary and Higher Secondary School from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka Bangladesh is currently an undergrad student in University of Hawaii, USA. It was grade 9 when he was influenced and motivated by some renowned photographer and especially his cousin that he can do something with the camera. Although his earliest life photographs were nothing more than a straightforward and ordinary click. He eventually was admitted to “Pathshala South Asian Media Institute” for a primary and a foundation course in photography. After that, the journey with his camera continued till now.
He has always seen photography like the one and only passion. Most of the time, his photos are focused on the general people in the streets. Sometimes any notable events around the city are his subject of interests. To him, photography is to communicate. Interact with people, and letting the people talk through his photos.
He is an emerging photographer, trying to learn basic compositions of photography and desiring for a stable position as a photojournalist. The purpose of this website is to gather and exhibit all his works he did in the past, doing in the present and will be doing in future.
Currently Working: As an Intern in Ka Leo O’Hawaii (The University of Hawaii Student’s Newspaper).
